Oasia Hotel Novena Singapore

Wednesday, March 28, 2018

Singapore has been known as a city whose people living in it are always hustling and bustling. I’ve been to Singapore before, and I’ve witnessed how busy the city can get, especially in the central district. It was only a few days ago that I’ve found the serene and relaxing side of the urban city. Located in the charming enclave of the Novena district, Oasia Hotel Novena is a premiere business hotel that offers distinctively elegant accommodations. The Oasia brand by Far East Hospitality inspires and empowers guests to Journey well when traveling through the wellness pillars, refresh, refuel, and recharge.

The surroundings of the hotel is undeniably peaceful and quiet, somewhat a hidden gem in a busy city. Even though it’s away from the central district, the location still offers convenience for it is just right beside the Velocity mall where it also has direct access to the MRT.

The Lobby

Upon entering the hotel, the massiveness of the lobby is what I noticed first. One side was made up of large stone slabs, and the other was of wooden finish. The touch of nature did give the relaxing and refreshing feeling of the lobby, and the warm tone also added up to the ambience. We were greeted warmly by the cheerful receptionist, and the check in went smoothly as well. Check in starts at 2pm, and check out is at 12nn. After checking in, another person, Iris, assisted us to our rooms. She was very helpful and accommodating, and even called back to our room to check if everything was okay and if we needed anything else.

The room

We got the deluxe room, at the corner of the building. It was said to be the most requested type of room in the hotel, and I can see why. Upon entering the room, I was immediately carried away by the room's view. The window glass meeting at the corner maximized the outside scenery, giving you a perfect frame of the city’s skyline. This side of the room is probably my favorite! The bed was so comfy and cozy. On the side of the bed was a universal outlet. There was a TV in front of the bed, and behind it you still get to have a view of the city.

Room rates range from SGD190 to SGD370
View from our room at sunrise.
Seeing this surprise from the hotel did put a smile on our face. It was indeed a thoughtful welcome from the hotel, and a cute one too!

A small workspace provided at the left side of the room, and to my surprise a Handy device was available. This device is so helpful especially when you don’t have internet connection and you want to explore the city. Towards the other end of the desk is a small fridge provided with a few drinks to choose from.
Inside the closet you can find a pair of bathrobes, a blow dry, shoe cleaner/accessories, 2 pairs of room slippers, a safety deposit box, and a clothing iron.

Another favourite part of the room is the bathroom. The bathroom itself has an amazing view as well. The design of the bathroom has its own fresh modern take. Two types of shower was provided on the shower area. A clear glass door was used on the division of the shower area, allowing natural light to pass through towards the other side of the bathroom.

The Marmalade Pantry

Included in our room package was a complimentary breakfast for two. The Marmalade Pantry interior was mostly in touches of wood, giving the room a warm and intimate feel. There were a variety of dishes to choose from, such as Asian and western dishes. Overall, the taste of the buffet food is actually really good!

Amenities

Most of the amenities are located on the 8th floor. You can find the gym, the veranda lounge, a small garden, and of course the swimming pool there. The view on this floor also has an amazing scene towards the city. The different shades of blue of the building surrounding it adds coolness to what my eyes have seen. Plus, there were a generous amount of greeneries present all throughout this level.

The size of the gym is just enough. The equipment provided are of those that are commonly used. There was also a sauna room in the gym. What I like the most of the gym is that there were free bottles of water provided for those who work out.

The veranda lounge is spread out throughout the outer portion of the 8th floor. Most of the lounges are covered, so no need to worry when it’s raining. I like how the lounges always have greenery with it, it adds up the refreshing feeling when staying there.

The swimming pool is in rectangular shape, perfect for lapses. Sun lounges where provided both in the pool and off the pool. On the corner side of the pool, there’s a Jacuzzi that you can find as well. The presence of palm trees adds a little resort kinda feel to the pool area.

Overall, I was very pleased with my 3 day stay at Oasia Novena Hotel. My trip in Singapore had a lot of walking under the heat of the sun, which sometimes it really drained me at the end of the day. I’m just so happy that staying at Oasia Novena made me relax, recharge, and refuel during my stay there.
